Where Kaeser Screw Compressors from 25 to 125 HP Get To Work
Kaeser built the ASD, BSD, and CSD series for continuous-duty industrial environments where air demand is steady and downtime carries real cost. These Kaeser industrial screw compressors serve a broad spectrum of applications across manufacturing, processing, and fabrication.
Metal fabrication and machining operations rely on consistent pressure for CNC machining centers, plasma cutting, laser cutting assist gas, and pneumatic clamping systems. Pressure drops in these environments translate directly to part tolerances and cycle time, making the CSD series' six pressure variants particularly useful for dialing in exact system requirements.
Automotive production and assembly facilities use compressed air across paint booths, body assembly tooling, tire inflation stations, and robotic actuators. The BSD series' output range from 196 to 289 acfm covers most mid-size automotive assembly and finishing applications without oversizing the system.

CSD – Power converted into efficiency
The new generation of oil-injected rotary screw compressors from Kaeser’s CSD series now delivers performance with even greater precision and efficiency. The integrated package, consisting of the motor, timing gears, and airend, permits selection of the most energy-efficient airend speed for each operating point. The installed Electronic Thermal Management (ETM) and newly designed inlet valve, together with the larger inlet filter, significantly enhance the efficiency of this industrial screw compressor. The speed-controlled fan ensures further energy savings and a reduced CO2 footprint, since it delivers only as much cooling air as is required.
For even greater energy efficiency, Kaeser always selects the most efficient drive possible for each industrial screw compressor. Fixed-speed systems are equipped with asynchronous motors, which meet the highest efficiency class, IE4, for this type of drive. Frequency-controlled SFC systems use IE5 motors and also meet the requirements for IES2 system efficiency, thereby achieving the highest possible efficiency rating in accordance with the European standard IEC 61800-9.

Selecting the Right Series: ASD, BSD, or CSD
The 25- to 125-hp capacity in Kaeser's direct-drive lineup comprises three series, with each industrial screw compressor matched to a distinct flow and installation profile.
ASD series (25–40 hp): The ASD is the right starting point for operations with moderate compressed air requirements. Flow rates from 111 to 192 acfm at 125 psi cover most single-shift manufacturing cells, smaller assembly lines, and job shops. The compact footprint makes installation practical in facilities with constrained machine room space.
BSD series (40–60 hp): The BSD bridges the gap between lighter manufacturing loads and heavier continuous-production demands. With output from 196 to 289 acfm at 125 psi, it fits multi-press fabrication shops, production finishing lines, and operations running two tools or process lines simultaneously. The integrated refrigerated dryer in the T-model configuration is located in a separate cabinet — not exposed to preheated air or compressor contaminants — for operations where point-of-use treatment is part of the compressed air system design.
CSD series (60–125 hp): The CSD is Kaeser's direct-drive workhorse for high-demand industrial environments. Six discrete pressure variants from 100 to 217 psig let you match the machine's output precisely to your system's pressure requirement, rather than throttling a higher-pressure machine. Flow rates up to 702 acfm at lower pressures make the CSD 175 one of the highest-output options in this power class.
For operations with variable demand cycles, the SFC variable-speed models across all three industrial screw compressor series use IE5 motors and meet IES2 system efficiency class, the highest rating available under IEC 61800-9. Pairing an SFC compressor with a base-load fixed-speed unit gives multi-shift facilities flexibility and efficiency across the full demand curve.
